Geraldine Dawson, director of the Center for Autism at the University of Washington, offers todays speech at the 4th International Meeting for Autism Research will be held at Boston Marriott Copley Place.Leading scientists from around the world, is involved in research on genetic factors, brain research, new treatments and possible environmental factors in the development of autism to be discussed. Dawson, also UW psychology professor, said his team began testing a new intervention
program for young children with autism are not only two-fold on language and cognitive development, but also promotes the emotional relationship between the a child and others. He said. As part of our results, we study the brains of childrens reactions to social stimuli. We hope that our intervention will affect not only behavior but also alters the trajectory of early brain development in a normal direction. Most interventions for children with autism for children of preschool age or more designs, and there are few programs for children. The program of the UW, however, researchers from the Children is reliably diagnosed with autism, some just 18 months.
