Secrets to Aging Brain
Scans of the brain cells of rats are helping scientists understand what happens in the head as the body ages. The study supports theories that suggest that physical changes in the brain means that an old brain is more difficult to find new tricks to get younger. The results could eventually help treat the disease - and patients, not help the brain to develop normally. Scientists from three universities in the United States attempted to see how the brain forms connections between different cells.We believe that these links are developed for the functioning of the brain and learn. The connections are not fixed - the brain has the ability to reorganize, although the factors that control how and when it is still little understood. U.S. scientists found that in a brain region,
at least, as frozen the brains of aged rats, which seemed to the ability to lose these changes so often, and many of the cell contacts.Age-related decline results confirm the theories that suggest that the plasticity and flexibility of the cells in the adult brain is much lower in the brain of a child. For example, an animal deprived of vision in one eye for an extended period during childhood becomes blind in that eye. However, restoring the sight of the stimulus that the animal is still young, could lead to recovery - whereas in adulthood, the recovery is not possible. The young animal is able to make new connections to take advantage of the situation.
